Comments: Stumbled onto you web site by accident this morning. I was in the Coast Guard and was engineering officer on the LST 207. Picked up the ship in Guadalcanal in Feb of 1944. Participated in the Guam, Leyte Gulf, Okinawa and many other supporting landings. I remember seeing the 794 and knew it was a Coast Guard Ship.

Comments: Just keep up the work, children now a day do not know the sacrifice that military men gave for this country. These sacrifices seem to be just a footnote in our history books in public schools. Kids need to know that men gave up their lives and security, and time so that these young kids can have a bright and prosperous future. They need reminders.

Comments: A question for you. I am trying to find out information about my father, Winford B. Sims, now deceased. He was a medic in the U.S. Army and was at Normandy on D-Day. When I did a search of his name, the only hit I got was this site. I have perused it thoroughly but find no reference to him. Could you help. I saw a news story on CBS News the day the D-Day Memorial opened in New Orleans and could swear my Daddy was in one of the photos as they panned the museum. I would mean a lot to me to find out more about his time overseas as I am an only child and he passed away when I was very young. Thank you.
