Comments: I got into your web site after you gave me an update on your site address. The site is cool and your father would be happy. I still have to do some research on my fathers ship. As I learn about the names of certain ships and duties they do the better I get to track what my Dad did. He was on U.S.S. Catron and he landed troops on shore. So the type of ship was different than your dads. I Thank

Comments: My dad landed on Okinawa with the Seabees and was fortunate to live through that experience. He has been dead several years buy I am researching his Navy history and experiences. I especially enjoy your photos and they give me a sense of what dad went through as a sailor in the Pacific war. Thanks.

Crewmember? Yes/My dad.

Comments: My father was wounded on the 794 during the invasion of Okinawa. He had already won a purple heart when he had been wounded earlier in the war on LST 354, near Vella LaVella (1943). He turned down the second purple heart, (probably saw no point in it.) My aunt was "surfing the web" recently, she entered her last name, and your site came up. Sure enough, it mentions my father being wounded on April 7th. I think your web site is great, and full of very useful information. I"m going to try and get my dad that second purple heart while he is still alive. The data on your site will help a great deal.Richard Charitat
